'Locker,' 'Air' win writing awards

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- "The Hurt Locker" and "Up in the Air" won the 2010 Writers Guild of America awards for original film screenplay and adapted screenplay respectively.

"The Cove" also earned the accolade for documentary screenplay at the WGA awards ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York this past weekend.

The writing team behind "Mad Men" won the WGA prize for drama series writing and the scribes at "30 Rock" won the award for scripting a comedy series.

The writers of "Modern Family" were also recognized with the award for writing a new series.
