Coachella sets dates for 2022 festival

June 1 (UPI) -- The Coachella music festival announced its dates for the 2022 music festival. Coachella will run the weekends of April 15-17 and 22-24, 2022, according to the Coachella website.

The 2020 Coachella music festival was one of the first events postponed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In March 2020, they hoped to postpone until October, but by June Riverside County officials ordered the festival canceled.

The festival had to cancel its 2021 dates, too. This announcement came in Jan., three months before the festival would have occurred in April.

Coachella is currently accepting registrations. Sales begin June 4 at 10 a.m. PDT.

YouTube also announced it will live stream performances from the 2022 Coachella festival. It will be the 10th year YouTube has partnered with Coachella.

Coachella has not yet announced acts for either weekend. Rage Against the Machine, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Nas X and Danny Elfman were among 2020 acts announced before the festival was cancelled.
