BTS breaks records with new album 'Love Yourself Her'

The EP is the followup to the K-pop group's album "Wings."

Sept. 19 (UPI) -- South Korean boy band BTS' new album is breaking records following its release.

The K-pop group's EP Love Yourself 'Her' ranked No. 1 on over six dozen charts Tuesday, including charts in the U.S., Britain, Australia, Canada and Japan, the most for a Korean act thus far, according to The Korea Herald. The group released the EP on Monday.

The album's lead track, "DNA," also topped iTunes song charts in 29 countries. The single debuted at No. 4 in the U.S., breaking the record BTS previously set with "Spring Day," which ranked No. 8 in February.

Soompi reported "DNA" also broke the record for most views of a K-pop music video in 24 hours. "DNA" easily surpassed Blackpink's video for "If It's Your Last," which hit 13.3 million views in 24 hours, with over 20.9 million views.

"DNA" had over 24.3 million views as of Tuesday morning in the U.S. BTS performed the single and other songs from Love Yourself 'Her' on the "BTS Comeback Show" Tuesday evening in South Korea.
