Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Dad-to-be Tyler Hubbard recently learned he's expecting a daughter, not a son.

The 30-year-old Florida Georgia Line singer said Friday that it was "a curve ball" to discover wife Hayley Hubbard is pregnant with a baby girl after a blood test initially said the baby was a boy.

"Gods got jokes......After thinking we are having a boy for the last few months, turns out the blood test was wrong and we're actually having a baby girl," Hubbard captioned a photo on Instagram of himself with Hayley.

"Woe... so many emotions but really really excited about this next chapter even if God does like throwing us a curve ball every now and then. Just keeping us on our toes. #daddysgirl," he added.

Hubbard and Hayley announced they were expecting a son in June after confirming Hayley's pregnancy the same month. Hubbard couldn't help but gush about becoming a father in an interview with People.

"There's a lot of excitement -- it's something we've looked forward to for a while," the star told the magazine. "It's just an exciting phase of our life and an exciting next step."

"There's a lot that we're going to learn," he added. "Trying to have the balance of raising a kid and raising a family with the lifestyle that we have, and the pace of life that we live -- it's going to be fun, it's going to be challenging and something that we're really, really excited about."

Hubbard and Hayley married in July 2015 after two years of dating. Hayley also shared the news about their daughter on Instagram, writing, "It's not a boy! It's a GIRL!!! our hearts are exploding with joy all over again! And shock! And excitement!"
