Red Velvet to release new EP 'The Red Summer' in July

The K-pop stars last released the EP "Rookie" in February.

June 30 (UPI) -- South Korean girl group Red Velvet will release a new EP in July.

Members Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy and Yeri shared promo photos and a track list for their album The Red Summer on social media this week.

"#RedVelvet Special summer album '#TheRedSummer' 2017.07.09 Title song 'Red Flavor' #RedVelvet #IRENE," the group tweeted Friday.

The Red Summer will debut online July 9, with physical copies available the next day. In addition to "Red Flavor," the EP will include the tracks "You Better Know," "Zoo," "Mojito" and "Hear the Sea."

SM Entertainment said the album "will show off the group's vivacious charm and energy," according to the Korea Herald. A colorful promo image promotes the singers as different fruits, with Irene as watermelon, Seulgi as pineapple, Wendy as orange, Joy as Kiwi and Yeri as grape.

Red Velvet released their debut studio album, The Red, in September 2015, and have since debuted the EPs The Velvet, Russian Roulette and Rookie. The group is known for the singles "Ice Cream Cake" and "Dumb Dumb."
