LAS VEGAS, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Celine Dion honors late husband Rene Angelil in a new and retrospective video. The 48-year-old Canadian singer reflected on Angelil's death and her journey since in a Facebook video released ahead of the new year.

"To mark the end of 2016, Celine and her team share with you a retrospective of this past year," the caption reads. "#TheShowMustGoOn."
The video covers Angelil's death in January, his funeral in Montreal, Dion's return to the stage at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Dion's son Rene-Charles presenting her with the Billboard Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards, and other big moments.
"So many people have helped me get where I am today," the star had said in her Billboard acceptance speech. "My friends ... My family. My mom, who wrote my first song. My children ... and, most importantly, my beloved husband, whom I know will continue to watch over me from up above."
Angelil died Jan. 14 at age 73 after a long battle with throat cancer. He and Dion were married over 21 years, and share 15-year-old Rene-Charles and 6-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy.
"I can't believe it's going to be a year that my husband passed," Dion recently told Page Six while discussing her family's plans for their first Christmas without Angelil. "It's kind of a bittersweet moment and at the same time we need to make the holidays really happy."
"I cannot just live on like, 'I lost my husband, my children have no father,'" she said. "I have to stand tall and strong because this is my way of living: stand tall, be positive, pick your battles, do the best you can and to live for today."
Dion last released the album Encore un soir in August, which debuted at No. 1 in France and Quebec, Canada. She remains in residence at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace.
