NEW YORK, June 7 (UPI) -- Tidal, the music-streaming service owned by Jay-Z, has added 15 albums from Prince to its growing catalog. In honor of the late pop artist's 58th birthday, the online service has opened access to the triple LP Crystal Ball, the EP 1999: The New Master, and live recordings as One Nite Alone...Live! and One Nite Alone...The Aftershow: It Ain't Over.

Other albums included are 2008's Indigo Nights and The Black Album -- which was pulled a week before its release date in 1987 for reportedly being "too dark," according to NME.
Two of the albums released were not directly from Prince, but his production company for his band New Power Generation, including 1995's Exodus and 1998's New Power Soul. A collection of songs from Prince's record label, titled 1-800-New-Funk, as well as the motion picture soundtrack to Girl 6. are also available to stream.
Prince signed an exclusive deal with Tidal in 2015. "When there's a company like Tidal or the OWN Network, situations when we finally get a position to run things, then we should all help," the "Purple Rain" singer told Ebony magazine at the time.
Reports from the Minnesota medical examiner this month showed that Prince -- born Prince Rogers Nelson -- died in April from an overdose of one of the strongest commercially available painkillers in the world, fentanyl.
