BARCELONA, Spain, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Radiohead is returning to the stage for the first time since 2012.

The band confirmed Thursday that they will be headlining three upcoming festivals, the Primavera Sound festival in Spain (June 2-4), the OpenAir St Gallen festival in Switzerland (July 2), and the NOS Alive festival in Portugal (July 8).

Radiohead will be joined by other headliners for the Primavera Sound festival including PJ Harvey and LCD Soundsystem along with other acts such as Tame Impala, Suede, Sigur Rós, the Last Shadow Puppets, Animal Collective, Brian Wilson, Air and Kamasi Washington.

In October, Radiohead registered a new company, Dawn Chorus LLP, leading fans to believe a new album was on the way. A similar company making tactic was used before Radiohead released their albums In Rainbows in 2007 and The King of Limbs in 2011.

That same month, guitarist Jonny Greenwood hinted at the group's next album tweeting "Lots has been recorded and we're about to go through it all...to see if it's any good. And we HOPE to tour next year: no plans confirmed yet."

Radiohead released new music in December in the form of their discarded theme song to Sony's latest James Bond film, Spectre. The band shared the song online after Sam Smith's "Writing's On The Wall" was chosen instead.

"Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre," Radiohead wrote on their official Facebook page alongside a link to the song on SoundCloud. "It didn't work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it."
