LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Britney Spears has a new album in the works. The 33-year-old singer confirmed as much by sharing a photo of herself with friends Tuesday on Twitter. "Working hard and hardly working...new album...wheeeee!" she wrote.

Spears had revealed she was working on new music last week, tweeting, "Just finished recording some vox. Love this song. It makes me smile, and I hope it will make you smile too... #B9."
The forthcoming record will be her ninth studio release, and her first since Britney Jean. The 2013 album peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and includes the singles "Work Bitch" and "Perfume."
Spears remains in residence at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, and extended her contract for an additional two years in September. She will guest star on the Nov. 9 episode of The CW series Jane the Virgin starring Gina Rodriguez.
