LAS VEGAS, March 23 (UPI) -- Celine Dion will return to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in August to resume her Las Vegas residency.

The 46-year-old star went on hiatus last August to care for her ailing husband René Angelil, who's been battling throat cancer for a second time. Dion's rep announced her plans to resume the residency earlier this month and her return date was made public on Friday.

"It is very emotional for me and I'm anticipating the emotions to grow even more as the date gets closer," Dion said of her return in a sit down interview with People magazine and Good Morning America.

Dion and Angélil married in 1994, and have three children. The Canadian singer has been in residence at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas since March 2011, and planned to extend her residency through 2019.
