Jimmy Greenspoon of Three Dog Night dead at 67

GAITHERSBURG, Md., March 13 (UPI) -- Keyboardist Jimmy Greenspoon has died at the age of 67, Three Dog Night announced on the band's website.

"We are very saddened at the passing of our dear friend and longtime band mate, Jimmy Greenspoon. Jimmy died peacefully at home today surrounded by his family. Please keep him and his loved ones in your prayers and your hearts," the group said in a message posted Wednesday.

Billboard magazine said Greenspoon announced five months ago he was battling cancer. He died in Gaithersburg, Md.
