NASHVILLE, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Kacey Musgraves performed a surprise duet with Loretta Lynn at the 2014 Country Music Awards on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old singer and 82-year-old country legend sang Lynn's hit "You're Looking at Country." The song was originally released in 1971 as the lead single off of Lynn's album of the same name, and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs.

Musgraves was nominated for three awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year, and won Best Song of the Year for "Follow Your Arrow."

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood co-hosted the awards show for their seventh consecutive year. Luke Bryan was declared the Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year, and Miranda Lambert and husband Blake Shelton were among the big winners of the night.

Musgraves released three independent albums before she came to fame on USA Network reality competition Nashville Star in 2007. The singer debuted her first major label record, Same Trailer Different Park, in March 2013, which won Best Country Album at the 56th Grammy Awards.
