Jason Aldean, former mistress Brittany Kerr make their red carpet debut as a couple

Aldean and Kerr have been dating since the country star's divorce in April 2013.

NASHVILLE, June 5 (UPI) -- Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr's relationship is no longer a secret.

The 37-year-old country singer and 26-year-old former American Idol contestant made their official debut as a couple Wednesday evening at the 2014 CMT awards. Kerr wore a white dress with subtle sheer insets, and the couple held hands as they posed for photos on the red carpet.

The pair found themselves at the center of controversy in September 2012 after they were photographed kissing at a bar in Los Angeles. Aldean was married at the time to Jessica Ussery, and apologized immediately after the photos leaked. He and his wife attempted to save the marriage, but filed for divorce in April 2013. Aldean and Kerr began dating soon after.
