LAS VEGAS, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- The Studio 54 nightclub at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is to close in January after 14 years, its owners announced.
Although a new club is expected to take its place after Studio 54 closes Jan. 18, no details about the new venue have been released, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

The change is part of a plan to renovate the hotel and casino, the newspaper said.
The club was inspired by the 1970s New York hotspot of the same name.
