J. Lo admits Anthony wasn't good for her

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. singer-actress Jennifer Lopez says she is divorcing her third husband Marc Anthony because she realized the recording artist wasn't good for her.

The couple recently announced their breakup after seven years of marriage.

"I really worked hard at it. We both did," UsMagazine.com quoted Lopez as telling Vanity Fair magazine. "Sometimes it doesn't work -- and that's sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love."

Lopez only hinted about why her relationship with the father of her 3-year-old twins fell apart.

"Sometimes we don't realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself -- if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now," Lopez told Vanity Fair.
