Perry, Gaga lead with 5 EMA nods apiece

LONDON, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Katy Perry and Lady Gaga were each nominated for

five 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards, it was announced Monday.

Set to take place at Caja Magica in Madrid, the 17th annual EMA ceremony will be broadcast live on MTV channels Nov. 7.

Perry and Linkin Park are already booked to perform on the show.

Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Rihanna go head to head in the Best Pop, Best Female act and Best Song categories. Gaga is also celebrating nods for Best Live Act and Best Video, while Perry is up for Best World Stage Performance and Best Video.

Eminem earned nominations for Best Hip Hop act, Best Song, Best Male act and Best Video.
