NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. recording artist John Mayer is to be featured in an installment of the "Live on Letterman" Web cast concert series, CBS Interactive Music Group said.
Mayer's concert is to be presented exclusively by American Express from New York's Ed Sullivan Theater Nov. 19. It is to follow the taping of Mayer's appearance on "Late Show with David Letterman."
During the concert, Mayer is expected to perform songs from his fourth studio album "Battle Studies," which drops Nov. 17, as well as some of his most well-known hits, CBS said.
This exclusive performance is the fifth time the "Late Show" has used the historic Ed Sullivan Theater as a concert venue. Pearl Jam performed a live Web cast concert for the "Late Show" and CBS.com May 4, 2006; Elvis Costello and the Imposters did one May 14, 2007; Paul McCartney performed from atop the Ed Sullivan Theater marquee during his Web cast concert July 15, 2009; and Tim McGraw participated in a "Live on Letterman" Web cast event Oct. 12, 2009, the network noted.
