Paramount+ adding 2,500 movies this summer

June 7 (UPI) -- Streaming service Paramount+ announced Monday it will add 1,000 movies to its library by Thursday and a total of 2,500 films by the end of the summer.

Among the movies that will be made available are Rocketman, Red Dawn, Gemini Man, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Birdcage, The Full Monty, The Hustle, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol, Footloose, Skyfall, Like a Boss, Star Trek Beyond, Child's Play, Pet Sematary, School of Rock, Tropic Thunder and The Rhythm Section.

Mark Wahlberg's new sci-fi epic, Infinite, will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ Thursday and the animated adventure, PAW Patrol: The Movie, will debut on the service Aug. 20, the same day as its theatrical release.

"The breadth and depth of premium feature films and exclusive series coming to the service further strengthens our position ... as a premium entertainment destination and, by offering this compelling content portfolio at an all-new low cost, makes us even more accessible to a wide consumer audience," Tom Ryan, president and chief executive officer for ViacomCBS Streaming, said in a statement.
