Bradley Cooper in talks to co-star with Clint Eastwood in 'The Mule'

May 19 (UPI) -- Bradley Cooper is in talks to act opposite his American Sniper director Clint Eastwood in The Mule.

Eastwood also plans to helm the movie, which is about a senior citizen who becomes a drug courier for a Mexican cartel.

Cooper is up for the role of the DEA agent trying to catch the man.

Eastwood last appeared on screen in 2012's Trouble With the Curve.

American Sniper was nominated for six Oscars, including Best Picture, but it only won one for Best Sound Editing.
