Civilian sailors attempt to rescue soldiers in 'Dunkirk' trailer

May 6 (UPI) -- Warner Bros. has released a 2 1/2-minute trailer for director Christopher Nolan's action thriller Dunkirk.

Featuring Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance, James D'Arcy and Harry Styles, the clip has gotten more than 2.1 million views since it was posted on YouTube Friday.

"When 400,000 men couldn't get home, home came for them," words across the screen announce as civilian sailors are seen heading to rescue Allied soldiers stranded in France and under attack by the Germans during World War II.

The film is set for release in theaters July 21.
