LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Disney's Moana teases adventure to come in a first official trailer released Thursday.

The preview sees Moana (Auli'i Cravalho), a young girl living in ancient Oceania, set sail to complete a quest with the demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson).

Moana is directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, who previously helmed such Disney classics as The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. The movie also features the voices of Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger and Alan Tudyk.

Musker and Clements revealed in July that Moana won't have a love interest in the film. The movie will instead focus on the character's journey, as Cravalho had alluded to in a previous interview with People.

"Moana is such an amazing character. She's so brave, she is so empowered, she knows what she wants and she's not afraid to get it, and I think that's something that I can relate to as well," the 15-year-old actress said.

"I just love watching how she goes along in this wonderful movie and grows as a person and helps her culture along the way," she added.

Moana opens in theaters Nov. 23. Johnson is also slated for a number of other projects, including a Baywatch reboot with Alexandra Daddario, a Jumanji sequel with Karen Gillan and the DC Comics film Shazam.
