Martin Starr, Logan Marshall-Green join cast of 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

LOS ANGELES, June 17 (UPI) -- Martin Starr and Logan Marshall-Green have signed on to star in and Sony and Marvel's upcoming superhero epic, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

According to Deadline, Starr and Green join the ensemble film days after Donald Glover was cast as production begins to ramp up.

Starr, known for his role as Bertram Gilfoyle on HBO's hit comedy series Silicon Valley, has been cast in an unspecified role while Marshall-Green, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will potentially be portraying a villain alongside Michael Keaton who is rumored to be playing Spider-Man nemesis The Vulture.

Marshall Green is best known for starring in Ridley Scott's 2012 sci-fi thriller Prometheus and most recently in horror film The Invitation. Starr has also starred in television shows Freaks And Geeks, Party Down and films Adventureland, Knocked Up and Superbad.

The cast also includes Tom Holland who will appear as a younger version of the wall-crawling hero, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Zendaya as the female lead and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming is expected to swing into theaters July 7, 2017.
