'Youth' wins big at the European Film Awards

BERLIN, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Youth was declared Best European Film and its star Michael Caine Best European Actor at a ceremony in Berlin Saturday evening.

Paolo Sorrentino also picked up the Best European Director prize for helming the picture.

Charlotte Rampling earned the Best European Actress accolade for her work in 45 Years.

A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence was deemed Best European Comedy, while Amy won the Best European Documentary title and the European Achievement in World Cinema Honorary Award went to Christoph Waltz.

Song of the Sea won the award for Best European Animated Feature.
