Daniel Bruhl joins the cast of 'Captain America: Civil War'

"With Daniel's ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes," producer Kevin Feige said in a statement Friday.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Rush, Inglourious Basterds and The Fifth Estate actor Daniel Bruhl has joined the cast of Captain America: Civil War, Marvel announced.

The third installment in the Captain America series is set for release May 6, 2016. It features Chris Evans in the title role, Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Bruhl's role was not disclosed in Friday's casting announcement.

Joe and Anthony Russo are returning to direct Civil War after this year's hit Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
