LOS ANGELES, July 2 (UPI) -- Foxcatcher released an intense new teaser trailer Wednesday.

The movie is directed by Bennett Miller (Capote, Moneyball) and stars Channing Tatum as real-life wrestler Mark Schultz. Mark and his brother Dave (Mark Ruffalo) were world champion wrestlers who both won gold medals at the 1984 Olympics. Dave was close friends with millionaire John du Pont (Steve Carell), who owned the Foxcatcher wrestling facility and hosted the athlete in his home for years.

The film depicts Mark's drive to succeed in the sport, and explores his relationship with du Pont. The unstable millionaire sponsored the brothers' wrestling careers until he unexpectedly shot and killed Dave in a paranoid schizophrenic episode. He was declared mentally ill and found guilty of third degree murder in 1997.

The film debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in May to rave reviews and Oscar buzz for Carell. Foxcatcher is scheduled for theatrical release November 14.
