LOS ANGELES, June 11 (UPI) -- Sony released the first footage from Fury at the E3 conference Tuesday.

The new movie stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena and Jon Bernthal as a five-man tank crew in World War II. The group is outnumbered and outgunned, but is determined to go behind enemy lines and hit the heart of Nazi Germany.

"They're exhausted, they're tired, they're grief-stricken, they're combat fatigued," director David Ayer (Training Day, End of Watch) says of his characters in the preview. "It's really about a family under incredible stress."

"The movie is like a character study with action sequences," Pena adds. "Like a song about each character. Everybody has their own storyline."

Pitt, who stars as Wardaddy in the film, previously portrayed Nazi hunter Aldo Raine in Inglourious Basterds (2009). LaBeouf appears as Boyd Swan, Lerman as Norman Ellison, Pena as Trini Garcia and Bernthal as Grady Travis.

Fury is scheduled for release November 14.
