LOS ANGELES, May 2 (UPI) -- New Tim Burton film Big Eyes will debut in theaters at the end of the year.

The new movie is a biographical film that focuses on Walter and Margaret Keane. Walter was an artist well known in the 1950s and 1960s for his paintings of waifish children with abnormally large eyes. He was also an entrepreneur whose fame as an artist skyrocketed after he sold mass produced prints of his work to the public.

The problem with Walter's art, however, was that he had not actually painted the works. His wife, Margaret, was the true artist, and the deception eventually broke up their marriage. Margaret went public with the information during their divorce battle, and eventually had to prove her merit in a paint-off against her husband.

Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained) will star as Walter in the upcoming movie, alongside Amy Adams (American Hustle) as Margaret. Kristen Ritter, Danny Huston, Terence Stamp and Jason Schwartzman also have roles.
