NEW YORK, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. film star Michael Douglas visits his estranged wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, nearly every day and makes pancakes for her and their children, WebProNews said.

Douglas also returns most evenings and reads bedtime stories to the kids, the report said.

"Michael would give his right arm for a reconciliation, but Catherine's warned she is not ready to commit and she's still not ruled out divorce," a close friend of the actress told WebProNews.

Although the couple confirmed this year they are living in separate homes, Douglas, 69, has frequently said in interviews he is optimistic he and Zeta-Jones, 44, will be able to work out their issues.

The pair married in 2000 and have a son Dylan, 13, and daughter Carys, 10, together.
