'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie set for release Aug. 1, 2014

LOS ANGELES, June 27 (UPI) -- Focus Features says its big-screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" will open in U.S. theaters Aug. 1, 2014.

"Nowhere Boy" filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson is to direct the movie, based on a script by Kelly Marcel.

No casting for "Fifty Shades" has yet been announced.
