Paris mayor presents Fonda with medal

PARIS, June 11 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Jane Fonda was presented with the Great Medal of Paris this week for her contributions to the French capital's art and culture.

Paris Mayor Bertand Delanoe honored the 72-year-old two-time Oscar winner with the award at the Paris Cinema Festival, the BBC said.

Fonda, who is in Paris making her first French-language film in 50 years, said the city felt "like a second home" to her, the British broadcaster said.

Fonda won the best actress Oscar for "Klute" and "Coming Home." Her film credits include "Barefoot in the Park," "Barbarella," "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" "The China Syndrome," "Nine to Five" and "On Golden Pond."
