British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran said the best part about going on tour with Taylor Swift is that she takes lots of days off and he gets a chance to see America.

Sheeran performed Friday on NBC's "Today" show, singing his hits "Lego House," "The A Team" and "You Need Me, I Don't Need You."

As part of the appearance he told "Today's" Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie going on tour with Swift has been a memorable one.

"The best thing about being on the road in general is just playing every single night in front of people that are genuinely fans of your music," he said. "I think the best thing about being on the road with Taylor is she has a lot of days off, so I actually get to see America. I got to see the Empire State Building the other day. I'd never been there, so that was fun."
