Peta Murgatroyd, Maks Chmerkovskiy expecting third child

Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy have another baby on the way.

The couple announced Monday that they are expecting their third child together.

In a post on Instagram, Murgatroyd said she learned about her pregnancy four months after the birth of their son Rio.

She shared a video of herself video calling Chmerkovskiy and surprising him with news of her pregnancy.

"We Are Having A Baby," Murgatroyd captioned the post. "Yes we know... we just had a baby... haha! This was very unexpected at (4 months postpartum with Rio) but we are sooooo happy and so ready to be a family of 5 soon!"

"Surpising @maksimc on this FaceTime with my two friends secretly filming from different angles made it all the more hilarious. It took one hour for me to get the courage to call him and when he wasn't catching on we all couldn't stop laughing in the kitchen. I had the 'I'm so sick story' the pickle and 2 bottles HAHA! Oh Maks."

Fellow DWTS pros Jenna Johnson and Sasha Farber were among those to congratulate the couple in the comments.

"BEST yet hardest secret to keep!!!! Cannot wait for another BABY!!!!!!!" Johnson wrote.

"Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best news !!!!!!!!! Congratulations," Farber said.

Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy also have a 7-year-old son, Shai. Murgatroyd gave birth to son Rio in June 2023 after experiencing several miscarriages and undergoing in vitro fertilization.
