May 20 (UPI) -- WWE's Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon has announced on Twitter that she will be taking a leave of absence from the company.

"As of tomorrow, I am taking a leave of absence from the majority of my responsibilities at WWE," McMahon said on Twitter Thursday.

"WWE is a lifelong legacy for me and I look forward to returning to the company that I love after taking this time to focus on my family," she continued.

No other explanation for her leave of absence was given.

Stephanie McMahon, 45, is the daughter of WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and is married to former wrestler Triple H, who acts as WWE's executive vice president of global, talent strategy and development.

Stephanie McMahon's announcement comes after Triple H announced his retirement from in-ring competition in March.

Triple H had gone into heart failure in September after a bout with viral pneumonia and stated in March that had a defibrillator in his chest.

Stephanie McMaon and Triple H share three daughters together, 15-year-old Aurora Rose, 13-year-old Murphy Claire and 11-year-old Vaughn Evelyn.

Recently, Women's Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi left the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va., during WWE's broadcast of Raw after the duo was advertised for the main event. The incident led to WWE changing its plans for Monday's main event.
