Feb. 23 (UPI) -- The Crown star Claire Foy and her husband, Season of the Witch actor Stephen Campbell-Moore, have announced plans to end their four-year marriage.

"We have separated and have been for some time. We do, however, continue as great friends with the utmost respect for one another," the former couple said in a joint statement to the British publication Metro.

Foy and Campbell-Moore were together for about seven years. They exchanged wedding vows in 2014 and are the parents of a 2-year-old daughter named Ivy Rose.

Us Weekly said Campbell-Moore said last month that he had surgery to remove a brain tumor at the end of 2016.

Foy has wrapped up her two-season reign as Queen Elizabeth II on The Crown and will be replaced by older actress Olivia Colman for Season 3.

Foy is currently filming The Girl in the Spider's Web in Germany and Sweden. She will play anti-social hacker Lisbeth Salander in the thriller, which is due in theaters Oct. 19.
