Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Kumail Nanjiani was seen eating brussels sprouts on Twitter after he lost a bet to filmmaker Edgar Wright. Wright, who directed 2017's Baby Driver, bet Nanjiani that his comedy drama The Big Sick would get nominated for an Oscar.
"I love Brussels Sprouts. Mr @kumailn does not. Last year I said he and @emilyvgordon would be nominated for Original Screenplay at the 2018 Oscars and that if I was right he had to eat a bowl of sprouts," Wright said Thursday alongside photos of Nanjiani eating brussels sprouts alongside a glass of champagne.
"So last night we celebrated with that classic combo: champagne and sprouts," Wright continued.

"I've never been happier to lose a bet & eat a bowl of something I dislike. Thank you @edgarwright!" Nanjiani said in response.

Nanjiani starred in and co-wrote The Big Sick with his wife Emily V. Gordon. The film depicts the real-life love story about the couple.
