Adriana Lima still working with Victoria's Secret, says rep

Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Longtime Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima is still working with the company, her rep says.

The 36-year-old Brazilian star's rep set the record straight in a statement Monday to People after Lima appeared to announce she is leaving the lingerie brand.

"As Adriana mentioned in her post she received a recent offer where she was not aligned with the direction," the rep clarified. "Adriana is blessed to be able to work with all the brands she does including Victoria's Secret."

Lima had spoken out in an Instagram post Sunday after being approached to film "a sexy video" for social media. She declared she will no longer "take off [her] clothes" for an "empty cause," leading many to believe she was quitting Victoria's Secret.

"Even though I have done many of this type, something had changed in me, when a friend approached me to share that she was unhappy with her body, then it made me think," the model explained of turning down the video.

"In that moment I realized that majority of woman probably wake up every morning trying to fit in a stereotype that society/socialmedia/fashion etc imposed.... i thought that's not a way of living," she said. "I will not take of my clothes anymore for a empty cause..... #Embraceyourself."

Lima has appeared in 18 Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows, including the 2017 show in Shanghai, China, in November. She told People at the event that she wants to reach 20 shows before considering retirement.

"I plan to be at 20. Two more years. Maybe more, I don't know," the star said. "It's nature. I'm working out, I'm being healthy, so let's see how the body is going to turn out. But I enjoy it. So let's say 20."
