'Street Fighter' celebrates its history with new '30th Anniversary Collection'

Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Capcom announced Sunday a new compilation of Street Fighter games that span the franchise's 30-year history.

The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will contain 12 arcade-perfect ports including every version of Street Fighter II and Street Fighter III and will release for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in May 2018.

A trailer for the collection released during the Capcom Cup finals, a tournament based around Street Fighter, features all 12 titles in action and the announcement that the bundle will include a comprehensive gallery on the series, including an interactive timeline, concept art, music archive and sprite viewers.

The full-list of games include the rare and arcade only Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.

Titles such as Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike will include a multiplayer online option outfitted with ranked and casual matches, lobbies and leaderboards.

Six new characters for Capcom's latest Street Fighter entry, Street Fighter V, were also announced at the Capcom Cup and include a mixture of old and new fighters such as Sakura, Blanka, Cody, Sagat, G and Falke.
