"i'm beyond thankful to my rockstar doctor & great therapists, my family & friends, fans, and co-workers who have been crucially supportive through one of the most difficult times of my life," he added. "a time that also confirmed for me that if you continuously look for it, being surrounded by apparent darkness can ultimately help you find your light...

"thanks to all. more good news coming soon," the star teased. "ily."

Phillippe announced July 17 that he "required surgical attention" after injuring himself at a "family outing," not on the set of his USA Network series, Shooter.

"hey, guys. i didn't injure myself doing a stunt or anywhere near the set of shooter. i was the victim of a freak accident during a family outing," the actor tweeted at the time.

"my leg is badly broken & required surgical attention, but i will make a full recovery, am in good hands, and will be back in action soon," he promised. "thank you for all the well wishes, support, & concern."

Shooter completed a second season in September. The season was reduced from 10 to eight episodes due to Phillippe's injury.
