Jessica Alba celebrates daughter Honor's 9th birthday: 'My sweet angel'

June 9 (UPI) -- Jessica Alba celebrated her elder daughter's ninth birthday this week.

The 36-year-old actress and Honest Company founder marked the occasion by sharing photos and a loving message to daughter Honor on Instagram.

"#happybirthday My sweet angel," Alba wrote Thursday. "I'm so proud of how compassionate, intelligent and thoughtful you are. The day you were born, I found my true calling in life. You turned my life and world right side up."

"I love you my baby to the moon and back. 9 yrs. old --- OMG! #HonorWarren #hbd," she added.

Alba shares Honor and 5-year-old daughter Haven with husband Cash Warren, whom she married in 2008. Warren, a 38-year-old film producer, also dedicated a message to Honor online.

"My baby girl - You turn 9 today. How do I have a 9 year old??!" the dad-of-two wrote Thursday. "The time is flying by but you know what ... I wouldn't have it any other way. Having you has taught me how to appreciate the here and now. I can't afford to wish for tomorrow because I know I'll miss today."

"You are kind, thoughtful and fair. You are smart, creative and driven. You're not afraid to listen. Keep it up my champ! You're doing great. I love you. I'm so proud of you," he added.

Alba said in an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2015 that her daughters have very different personalities.

"[Haven] is very precocious," the star shared. "She's the class clown ... and she distracts the other kids from doing their work."

"[Honor] loves rules. She, like, tells on Haven," she said. "She's chill and really into purses. Like, Haven dances around likes a maniac and then Honor just [vogues] in the mirror. They're, like, opposites."

Alba came to fame on the 2000s Fox series Dark Angel, and has since appeared in films, including Sin City and Machete. She founded The Honest Company in 2012, which agreed this week to pay $1.5 million in a class action settlement.
