April 9 (UPI) -- Pop music superstar Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana, the billionaire she married in 2012, have separated. Us Weekly said the split comes after the 50-year-old singer gave birth to the couple's first child, a son named Eissa, in January.

"She thought he had become too controlling during the pregnancy and she had already allowed him to dictate her appearance and even the way she performed at concerts," a source who works closely with the couple told the New York Post about why they went their separate ways.
The 41-year-old, Qatari businessman is Jackson's third husband. She was previously married to singer James DeBarge and dancer Rene Elizondo.
Jackson postponed her Unbreakable world concert tour last spring, explaining, "My husband and I are planning our family."
