"Started in 1970, 'Jazz Fest' continues to showcase the most important names in music both locally and nationally," the festival said. "Celebrating four and a half decades of musical and cultural memories, Jazz Fest stands alone in presenting the highest caliber artists in such varied genres as gospel, blues, traditional and contemporary jazz, rock, R&B, Cajun, country, zydeco and much more."
Jazz Fest 2017 will take place at the New Orleans Fair Grounds Race Course during the weekends April 28 through April 30 or May 4 through 7 and will feature about 500 artists.
The festival will also include a tribute to the late Buckwheat Zydeco and a special program dedicated to the music of Cuba featuring nearly a dozen Cuban artists, according to Rolling Stone.
