PITTSBURGH, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- The Superstars of Raw faced a Roadblock before heading into WrestleMania season Sunday for the red brand's third solo pay-per-view event.
Taking place inside the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa., Roadblock represented an end to the long-running feud between Charlotte and Sasha Banks over the Raw Women's Championship.
The title, which has switched hands multiple times in recent months, will now rest comfortably on the shoulders of Charlotte, who bested Banks at the last minute in their grueling 30 minute Iron Man match.
Charlotte won the bout after it was sent into sudden death overtime by focusing on the legs of The Boss and utilizing her patent Figure Eight Leglock. "Four," WWE noted on Twitter alongside a photo of Charlotte holding up the belt to note her becoming a four-time Raw Women's Champion.
With their rivalry now finished, Charlotte will have new challengers to face in the coming months.
In the main event, Universal Champion Kevin Owens defended his title against United States Champion Roman Reigns in yet another hard-hitting contest that ended in controversy due to the actions of Owens' alleged best friend Chris Jericho.
Despite their rocky relationship as of late, Jericho came through for Owens after he entered the match to deliver a Codebreaker to the champ in order for Reigns to be disqualified.
The attack, which was revenge for Owens accidentally helping Seth Rollins win earlier against Jericho, was followed by a a series of hugs and smiles to prove that their bond remained strong.
Upset at Jericho's constant interference, Reigns and later Rollins who joined in to help, then put Jericho and Owens through tables using their signature team Power Bomb move they used during their time in The Shield.
"@WWERollins + @WWERomanReigns = EVEN MORE BAD NEWS for @FightOwensFight!!," WWE posted on Twitter alongside a short clip of the table-smashing moment.
Other highlights from Roadblock include Cesaro & Sheamus defeating The New Day for the Raw Tag Team Championships days after The New Day became the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all time; Sami Zayn surviving 10 minutes against Braun Strowman; Rusev defeating Big Cass by count-out and Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann defeating The Brain Kendrick and TJ Perkins.
