"In my career or otherwise, [the most defining moment of my life] is the birth of my children. The entrance of my children into the world," Affleck revealed.

"[Jennifer is the] world's greatest mom," he said before adding, "It's a joy to hang out with [our kids]. I think the meaning of life is to make good people."

Affleck and Garner share 11-year-old daughter Violet, 7-year-old daughter Seraphina and 4-year-old son Samuel. The actor spilled details about his family's holiday plans in an interview with Entertainment Tonight this week.

"I can tell you that we're going to do skiing in Montana with our family and Matt Damon's family and my brother's family," he revealed. "It should be a lot of fun."

Affleck and Garner announced their split in June 2015 after 10 years of marriage. The actress discussed the importance of being an involved parent during an appearance on the Today show in September.

"They need you to focus, and they need your attention," she said. "I give it all I can."

"I try to be the best version of myself and to have faith that they're watching me as carefully when I do something right as they do when I roll through a stop sign," the star added.

Affleck will next star with Elle Fanning in Live by Night, which opens in theaters Dec. 25. He is also slated to reprise Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, in the movie Justice League.
