Promo for Tom Hardy's 'Taboo' full of supernatural surprises

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Tom Hardy encounters supernatural surprises in the promo for his upcoming FX show, Taboo, which premieres in early 2017.

The 20-second video features Hardy, as James Keziah Delaney, as he comes face-to-face with otherworldly beings.

"I know things about the dead," he whispers.

Set in 1814, Taboo tells the story of Delaney, "a man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed," according to the show's YouTube description. Delaney is tasked with navigating a mystery surrounding his family while trying to keep himself alive.

The 8-episode series is executive produced by Ridley Scott and Steven Knight and based off an original concept by Hardy and his father, Chips.

Taboo also stars Michael Kelly, Oona chaplin, David Hayman, and Jonathan Pryce.
