LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Chance the Rapper appeared on Ellen for the first time and performed "No Problem" with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, and talked about making music with no record label.

Chance, known for his unorthodox approach to music -- not signing with a record label and giving his tunes away for free -- transformed part of the Ellen set in his debut performance on the show.

Chance and crew burst through the doors of "Generic Records," and essentially turned business upside down -- a metaphor for Chance's approach to the industry game.

Chance was also joined by 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne, who are featured on the song from Chance's critically-acclaimed Coloring Book album.

After the performance, host Ellen DeGeneres sat down with Chance and asked him about his decision not to sign to a major label.

"I'm just trying to be an example for all the young artists that are becoming artists everyday and working on their craft and trying to help them avoid the pitfalls of the upper management in music and the non music side of music," he said.
