New TV trailer for 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' is released

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Fans got another look at the upcoming standalone Star Wars movie, Rogue One, in a TV trailer that was released Monday night.

The movie, officially titled Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, introduces a new cast of characters and is being billed as an "origin story."

The film is set before A New Hope and tells the story of a band of Rebel forces – led by Jyn Erso – who set out on a mission to intercept the plans for the new Death Star.

Rogue One stars Felicity Jones as Jyn, Diego Luna, Forrest Whitaker, and Mads Mikkelsen and is set to premiere in theaters Dec. 16.
