PEBBLE BEACH, Calif., June 23 (UPI) -- Candace Cameron Bure celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with a romantic getaway.
The 40-year-old actress and husband Valeri Bure, who married June 22, 1996, marked the milestone with a trip to Pebble Beach Resort. Bure shared several photos on Instagram, including a throwback picture from their wedding.
"Throwback to 20 years ago today. Happy Anniversary to us. #happyanniversary #anniversary #anniversarygetaway," she captioned the snapshot.
Bure and Valeri, a 42-year-old retired NFL star who was born in Moscow, Russia, have three children: 17-year-old Natasha, 16-year-old Lev and 14-year-old Maksim. The actress admitted their marriage hasn't always been easy in a since-deleted Facebook post.
"We are celebrating 20 years of marriage. 22 years together as a couple," she wrote. "I couldn't be more proud to be here and love my man the way I do. But let me assure you it hasn't been roses the whole journey."
"There have been several tough years, in a row, ups and downs, bad attitudes and bad decisions, but we've persevered," the star revealed. "We rode them out. We loved each other through them. We kept the focus; God's glory. We are both better for it."
