LOS ANGELES, May 4 (UPI) -- Jessica Biel says son Silas is as charming as his dad, Justin Timberlake.

The 34-year-old actress opened up about the one-year-old in a segment on Wednesday's episode of Today, admitting her life has drastically changed since she and Timberlake welcomed Silas in April 2015.

"It does change things because you have a first-hand experience of how difficult it is to have a kid," the star explained. "How many diapers they need a day. How many wipes you use ... It really changes your perspective massively."

Biel and Timberlake have been together since 2007 and married in 2012. The actress feels as connected to Silas now as she did while pregnant and said her family provides her with a special sense of belonging.

"People talk about, like, that invisible umbilical cord. That you're still connected to that person even though you're not in the same body anymore. And that does not go away," she revealed.

"I definitely have that unit feeling," she added of her family "It's a good feeling. It's very insular and it feels like it's you against the world and you can do anything. It's kind of that aspirational feeling, I guess."

Biel described Silas as "a ham, just like his dad" who "thinks everything is funny." The new mom opened a child-friendly restaurant, Au Fudge, in West Hollywood in March, and recently discussed the venture with C Magazine.

"You can't help but get your feelings hurt," she said in response to claims the restaurant is an exclusive place for celebrities. "But it inspired us to keep moving forward because we know our hearts are in the right place."

Biel recently hosted a Mother's Day brunch for low-income moms and their children at Au Fudge in conjunction with Baby2Baby and Tiny Prints. The actress will next voice Vix in the movie Spark.
