'The Legend of Zelda' manga series to receive omnibus this fall

SAN FRANCISCO, April 19 (UPI) -- Viz Media has announced their plans to re-release The Legend of Zelda manga series in a new, five volume omnibus.

Revealed Monday on Twitter, volume one of The Legend of Zelda: Legendary Edition will be released on November 1 and will contain two volumes out of the 10 volume series.

The re-release will also feature new covers and artwork from original creator Akira Himekawa and will be printed in a larger resolution. The first volume will collect the manga adaption of Ocarina of Time with future volumes set to be released on a bi-monthly schedule that will cover subsequent entries in the famed Nintendo video game series.

"The Legend of Zelda is an unforgettable and tremendously loved property among multiple generations of video game, pop culture and manga fans," said Beth Kawasaki, senior editorial director on the project to Three If By Space. "We are very excited to bring fans The Legend of Zelda in a comprehensive new way with these collectible omnibus editions."

The Legend of Zelda: Legendary Edition will retail $17.99 in the United States and $21.99 in Canada.
