First image of illustrated 'Harry Potter' cover revealed

LONDON, March 31 (UPI) -- Bloomsbury Publishing has released the cover to Jim Kay's highly anticipated illustrated version of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

The book, according to Pottermore, will hold 115 fresh color illustrations and will be published in 21 languages. It includes a range of stylistic images, from academic sketches of mandrakes to detailed portraits of the Harry Potter universe's most beloved characters.

The illustrated version of Harry Potter's second adventure at Hogwarts comes after his version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Illustrated Edition, which released in October of last year.

New images from the book released Wednesday also include a colorful detailed study of the magical phoenix.

The hardcover edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Illustrated Edition will become available Oct. 4.
